International Investigations

Given the international nature of the marine industry and the number of foreign registered cruise and cargo ships operating from US ports, the investigation of accidents involving both domestic and foreign registered vessels promotes marine safety worldwide. The Office of Marine Safety has investigated accidents involving foreign flagged vessels or US flagged ships as far away as the North Sea, American Samoa, Japan, and Singapore.
