Information for Survivors, Families, & Friends

Survivors, family, and friends banner.

The NTSB’s Transportation Disaster Assistance Division (TDA) coordinates family assistance resources:

  • at the request of NTSB Investigators,
  • when survivors, families, or friends contact the TDA Division directly, or
  • during an established family assistance operation near the transportation accident location.

TDA serves as the primary agency contact for survivors families and friends of those involved, in accidents investigated by the NTSB. Our specialists provide investigative updates related to publicly released reports or information, and work with NTSB investigators to address questions about the status of an investigation. They also offer information about available assistance through appropriate organizations.
