We may not get to all questions, but will do our best in the limited time.

WHAT:
A roundtable discussion on Advanced Driver Assistance Systems – Strategies for Increasing Commercial Vehicle Adoption co-hosted by the National Transportation Safety Board and the National Safety Council. This event is focused on heavy-duty trucking.

WHEN:
July 24, 2017, from 1:00 P.M. – 5:30 P.M. CDT

WHERE:
Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center Hotel, in Schaumburg, Illinois

WHO:
Roundtable participants will include experts on this topic from industry, government, advocacy groups, media, and academia.

WHY:
Advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) – also known as collision avoidance technologies - can play a significant role in preventing crashes and saving lives. While we have seen significant growth in the passenger vehicle market, adoption of ADAS technologies in the commercial vehicle market (heavy trucks) and among employer and rental fleets has been slow. The NTSB and NSC hosted a similar roundtable in October 2016 focused on passenger vehicles and consumer awareness of new safety technologies.
