Fire on Passenger Vessel Adirondac

What Happened

​​​On December 8, 2025, about 0700 local time (eastern standard time), the New York state-inspected passenger vessel Adirondac​ caught fire while moored along the southern edge of Lake George, New York. The fire was reported to be under control and extinguished by local fire departments approximately 1 hour later. Extensive damage was reported to the top deck of the vessel, with initial damage estimates from Lake George Waterfront Cruises exceeding $2 million. No pollution or injuries were reported. The US Coast Guard has declared this incident a major marine casualty. The NTSB will lead the investigation and establish the probable cause.
