On November 21, 2025, about 1838 local time (pacific standard time), a fire broke out on the container ship One Henry Hudson while docked at the Yusen Terminal in the Port of Los Angeles, California. Emergency response firefighters responded, and a safety zone was instituted due to concerns of dangerous cargo on board. The vessel, with 25 persons on board (23 crew and 2 pilots), was then moved to an anchorage 6 nautical miles offshore, where firefighting efforts continued for 4 days. No pollution or injuries were reported. Damages are estimated to exceed $2 million. The Coast Guard has declared this incident a major marine casualty. The Coast Guard will lead the investigation, and the NTSB will investigate and determine the probable cause.
