​On September 13, 2025, about 0400 local (eastern daylight time), the towing vessel Listo was pushing an empty barge en route to Norfolk, Virginia, when it struck an unknown wooden structure. There was no damage to the tug or barge, and no pollution or injuries were reported. Four days later, Naval Air Station Patuxent River reported that its Hooper Target range board was off station and damaged. US Coast Guard investigators correlated the Listo's original collision report to the Hooper Target. The damage was estimated at $800,000. The Coast Guard has declared this incident a major marine casualty. The Coast Guard will lead the investigation, and the NTSB will investigate and determine the probable cause.​
