On March 26, 2025, the 54-foot-long recreational vessel (motor yacht) Emerald C ran aground near Pebble Beach, California, with two persons on board. There were no injuries, and no pollution was reported. Damages are estimated to be $1 million.
Our initial investigation did not identify significant transportation safety issues. We determined that additional investigation and use of resources are not warranted at this time. We have produced an investigation close-out memorandum, which can be found in our docket.
