On August 16, 2023, about 0445 central daylight time, a fire was reported at the River Club Marina, a 27-slip covered marina on the Tchefuncte River near Covington, Louisiana. The local fire department responded and extinguished the fire. Thirteen recreational vessels were damaged or destroyed. A sheen about 15 feet by 15 feet was reported. There were no injuries reported.
Our initial investigation did not identify significant transportation safety issues. We determined that additional investigation and use of resources are not warranted at this time. We have produced an investigation close-out memorandum, which can be found in our docket.
