Paperwork Reduction Act
The Paperwork Reduction Act (PRA) of 1995, 44 U.S.C. §§ 3501-3520, requires agencies to obtain approval from the Office of Management and Budget before requesting most types of information from the public. "Information collections" include forms, interviews, recordkeeping requirements, and vessel and gear marking, among other categories. The PRA requirements apply regardless of whether the agency engages in a required or a voluntary collection of information from the public.
The information presented below is intended to provide details regarding the PRA's requirements and the status of NTSB clearance requests or approvals. Should you wish to provide comments or suggestions on this PRA page, please contact us, or submit written comments by postal mail to:

This is a listing of links to copies of the approved Paperwork Reduction Act clearance requests made by NTSB. Entries in the listing are organized by OMB Control Number. By clicking on the link, you will get a copy of the submission. When any clearance request has been superseded by the approval of a new comprehensive submission, it will be removed from the list. When revisions are approved both the revision and the last comprehensive submission will be listed.
In some cases the collection forms may be of poor quality due to the need to scan poor quality originals. Some older submissions may not have all relevant attachments. The files are protected so that you should not be able to alter the text, but you can print and copy as needed. Customers wanting editable versions of parts of the documents should contact us.
