There are no other witnesses to be called upon to testify at this time, so this portion of the Safety Board’s investigation of the tanker truck overturn and fire accident in Indianapolis, Indiana, is concluded. In accordance with our procedures, this investigation will remain open to receive, at any time, new and pertinent information regarding the accident and related safety issues.

As a reminder, the parties to this hearing have the opportunity to submit proposed findings of facts, conclusions, and recommendations. Please forward such submissions to Mr. Dan Filiatrault, the Hearing Officer, within 30 calendar days from today—that would be no later than September 3, 2010. Any party making such a submission should also send copies of their proposal to each of the other parties. All timely submissions will be made part of the public docket and will receive careful consideration by the Safety Board as we develop the report on this accident.

I want to thank the parties for their cooperation, not only during this hearing, but throughout the entire investigation of this accident. Also, on behalf of the Board of Inquiry and the Technical Panel, I want to express our sincere appreciation to the witnesses who gave testimony during the hearing. We value your input and appreciate your interest in the work of the Safety Board. Over the past two days, it is clear that our mutual interest is to improve highway safety. We look forward to sharing our final report with you in the coming months.
