On September 30, 1994, at 0855 central daylight time, a Cessna 152, N46872, was substantially damaged during takeoff at Bourland Field, Fort Worth, Texas. No flight plan was filed and visual meteorological conditions with calm winds prevailed for the supervised solo flight. The student pilot was not injured.

During an interview conducted by a Federal Aviation Administration inspector, the pilot reported that while practicing takeoffs and landings during her first solo flight she lost directional control and ran off the left side of runway 17. After the airplane left the runway, it struck a dirt mound and nosed over, resulting in structural damage.
