NTSB investigators may not have traveled in support of this investigation and used data provided by various sources to prepare this aircraft accident report.THE PLT STATED THAT HE WAS IN A CLIMB TO CRUISE WHEN HE SMELLED SMOKE. HE IMMEDIATELY TURNED BACK TOWARDS THE ARPT BUT THE CABIN FILLED WITH SMOKE SO HE ELECTED TO MAKE AN EMERGENCY LANDING IN A PLOWED FIELD. AFTER LANDING THE ACFT WAS TOTALLY DESTROYED BY FIRE.
