The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating a railroad grade crossing accident and explosion near Baltimore, Md., that occurred at approximately 2:00 PM (EDT) on May 29, 2013.
 
NTSB highway safety Investigator Peter Kotowski is the investigator-in-charge and NTSB Board Member Robert L. Sumwalt accompanied the team and served as the principal spokesperson during the on-scene phase of the investigation.
