Response: THE GRIFFITH COMPANY LETTER: GRIFFITH COMPANY HAS ALWAYS TAKEN A RESPONSIBLE ROLE IN THE IDENTIFICATION AND LOCATION OF ALL POTENTIAL HAZARDS ON PROJECTS BEFORE COMMENCING CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES, INCLUDING THE USE OF UNDERGROUND SERVICE ALERT (U.S.A.). FOR YOUR INFORMATION, GRIFFITH COMPANY WAS VERY ACTIVE IN PROMOTING STATE LEGISLATION REQUIRING OPERATORS/OWNERS OF "HAZARDOUS" UNDERGROUND UTILITIES TO PROVIDE ACCURATE "AS BUILT" INFORMATION TO CONTRACTORS WHEN THEY ARE CONDUCTING CONSTRUCTION OPERATIONS NEAR THESE FACILITIES. THE HAZARDOUS UTILITY OWNERS AND OPERATORS, HOWEVER, WERE SUCCESSFUL IN SOUNDLY DEFEATING THE PROPOSED MEASURE.
