On July 30, 2016, about 1100 central daylight time (CDT), a Larry Boam Rans S7, N6271X, departed the runway during takeoff from Whittman Regional Airport (KOSH), Oshkosh, Wisconsin. The airplane sustained substantial damage to the wing struts and fuselage. The private pilot, and sole occupant onboard, was not injured. The airplane was privately registered and operated under the provisions of 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 as a personal flight. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed for the flight, and no instrument flight rules flight plan was filed.
