On February 2, 1998 at about 1047 local time, Cebu Pacific Airline(CPA), flight 387, a McDonnell Douglas DC-9-32, crashed into the 6750 foot elevation of Mount Sumagaya, Misamis Oriental Province, Mindanao, Philippines, 30 miles Northeast of the Cagayan de Oro. Flight 387 departed Manila at 0915 en route to Cagayan de Ord with a stopover at Tacloban.The five crew and 99 passengers were fatally injured. The accident is being investigated by the Government of the Philippines.
