NTSB TO HOLD MEDIA BRIEFING ON AMTRAK DERAILMENT IN CRESCENT CITY FLORIDA


Washington D.C. - The National Transportation Safety Board will hold a media briefing on yesterday's Amtrak Auto Train derailment today at 11:45 a.m. at the accident site on Old Highway 17 in Crescent City, Florida.  Board Member George Black will conduct the briefing.

The Safety Board will hold its second media briefing on yesterday's Amtrak Auto Train derailment today at 5:00 p.m. at the accident site.  Board Member George Black will conduct the briefing.

At approximately 5:15 p.m. April 18, 2002, the Amtrak Auto Train en route from Stanford, Florida to Lorton, Virginia derailed 14 cars. The NTSB launched a 16-member team, including Board Member George Black to Florida yesterday evening.
