NTSB TO HOLD PUBLIC HEARING ON CARGO AIRCRAFT CRASH NEAR SACRAMENTO

National Transportation Safety Board Members have voted to hold a public hearing as part of the ongoing investigation into the crash, earlier this year near Sacramento, California, of an Emery Worldwide cargo aircraft.

Emery Worldwide flight 17, a Boeing (Douglas) DC-8-71, crashed on February 16, 2000, while attempting to return for landing shortly after departing Mather Airport in Sacramento on a scheduled cargo flight to Dayton, OH. The three crewmembers aboard the flight were killed; the aircraft was destroyed by impact forces and post-crash fire.

The date, time and venue for the hearing will be determined at a later date.
