NTSB HOSTS ITS FIRST GENERAL AVIATION SAFETY SYMPOSIUM


The National Transportation Safety Board will host a 2-day general aviation accident prevention symposium in Washington, D.C.

Location: NTSB Board Room/Conference Center, L'Enfant Plaza
Dates: September 21-22
Time: 8:30 a.m. (first day) 8:00 a.m. (second day)

The Symposium will open with remarks by NTSB Chairman Jim Hall. Representative James Oberstar, Ranking Member, House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, will be the keynote speaker at the dinner banquet on the evening of the 21st.

The symposium will provide an opportunity to hear discussions on the factors, causes, and preventive measures for general aviation accidents. NTSB investigators will present information on selected accidents, followed by panel discussions involving aviation industry experts from training, maintenance, regulatory, academic, association, military, and manufacturing entities.

Directions to the Conference Center: Front door located between the entrance and exit for public parking on Lower 10th Street, between Frontage Road, to the east and D Street, to the west, directly below L'Enfant Plaza. From Metro, exit L'Enfant Plaza station at 9th and D Streets escalator, walk through shopping mall, at CVS Pharmacy take escalator down one level. Board room will be to the left.
