 NTSB Releases Preliminary Report on WMATA Smoke and Electrical Arcing Accident in Washington, DC

​ In its continuing investigation of the January 12, 2015  smoke and electrical arcing incident near the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority L’Enfant Plaza  Station in Washington, D.C., the National Transportation Safety Board has released a preliminary factual report.
 
Analysis of the accident facts, along with conclusions and a determination of probable cause, will come at a later date when the final report on the investigation is completed.
