The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) will host its second annual Youth Open House and Transportation Education Day on Monday, May 7, 2012, from 9:30:00am to 4:30pm, in the NTSB's Board Room and Conference Center, located at 429 L'Enfant Plaza, S.W., and Washington, D.C. This event is open to youth ages 15 through 18.
During the event, participants will learn about the role and mission of the NTSB, some of the crashes the NTSB has investigated involving young drivers and the impact NTSB has made in the US and worldwide to improve transportation safety, the many safety steps the Open House participants they can take to build a safer transportation system, and provide the youth with knowledge that they can use to help educate and influence their peers to be safer and better teen passengers and drivers.
National Organization for Youth Safety and Close - Up Foundation will also be participating in the event. In addition the event will feature a distracted driving simulator, Toyota NASCAR Nationwide Series driver Tayler Malsam, and The Young and The Restless star Bryton James.
