Member Weener Visits Flight Safety International’s (FSI) Wilmington/Greater Philadelphia Learning Center

February 1, 2011

On Thursday, December 16, 2010, Board Member Earl Weener visited Flight Safety International’s (FSI) Wilmington/Greater Philadelphia Learning Center for a tour of the facility and briefing on its training curriculum.

The facility is one of 40 FSI Learning Centers in the U.S. that provide aviation training for pilots of all aircraft types.  This particular facility houses 15 flight simulators of varying aircraft makes, all designed and built by FSI.  Additionally, the facility operates a number of Graphical Flight-Deck Simulators, which provide realistic flight deck simulations for training purposes in preparation for more extensive training with the more sophisticated simulators.

Member Weener, an active GA pilot, also had the opportunity to "fly" the Hawker Beechcraft Premier simulator and receive a pre- and post-flight briefing session to assess his flying skills, as well as discuss other timely pilot training issues such as stick shaker and stick pusher scenarios.
