Member Weener Addresses Experimental Aircraft Association

On Tuesday, February 1, 2011, Member Weener addressed the Experimental Aircraft Association’s Chapter 1099 at a meeting in Stafford, Virginia.  Member Weener took the opportunity to address the group in support of his advocacy effort on reducing dangers to aircraft flying in icing conditions, an item on the Board’s Most Wanted List.  His presentation included identifying NTSB concerns with airframe icing and reiterating recommendations issued by the Board. Member Weener also focused on the unique risks posed by ice involving supercooled large droplets, and the conditions associated with the formation of SLD.  As well, he was able to share his own insights and experience with icing conditions during flight.

Bio

Weener was sworn in as a Board Member on June 30, 2010. His term expires on December 31, 2015.
