Earlier this year, NTSB Board Member Earl Weener traveled to Toulouse, France, to meet with Airbus officials and tour the facilities where final assembly takes place for the A320 family, A330/A340 and the A380 aircraft.  During his visit, he also gained an understanding of how the company conducts and analyzes data in testing of its products, as well as how it stays in touch with its customers to monitor and address product safety issues once aircraft enter commercial operations.  The tour also included a walkthrough of the A380 assembly facility, where various components of the plane are assembled.
