Chairman Hersman Educates Youth on Personal Floatation Devices

June 23, 2011

Earlier this month, National Transportation Safety Board Chairman Deborah A.P. Hersman shared with youth the importance of wearing a personal flotation device (PFD) when participating in boating activities.  Living Classroom, a non-profit educational organization, brought 300 students from diverse backgrounds, to the National Harbor, in Prince George’s County Maryland, for its fourth annual Nation’s River Bass Tournament.   For many of these kids, this was their first time on a boat, so it was a great chance to educate them about boating safety.  Read the Chairman’s blog and view photos this event aimed at saving young lives.
