Recently, National Transportation Safety Board Chairman Deborah Hersman received a visit by Chesed Shel Emes (CSE), an Orthodox Jewish disaster response group. This organization, and similar groups like it, provide assistance to the Safety Board’s Office of Transportation Disaster Assistance (TDA) and regional air safety investigators on-scene during NTSB accident investigations involving Jewish persons.
“CSE is aware of our investigative needs and they assist us in providing services to survivors and family members of accidents,” said Paul Sledzik, TDA Chief. “For family members of the Jewish faith who choose to use them, CSE and groups like them provide important services in a critical time of need. We appreciate the cooperation and services of the CSE response staff.”
During the CSE’s visit, the group presented a plaque thanking the staff at the Safety Board and directly referenced TDA.
