On Saturday, February 5, 2011, a general aviation airplane crashed into Lake Koshkonong, WI and flipped over. The pilot, the sole occupant of the aircraft, was not injured.
“In a general aviation accident such as this one that did not involve a fatality and, on initial notification, does not have a predominant safety issue, the NTSB relied on the local FAA Flight Standards District Office (FSDO) to send an inspector on-site to collect factual information concerning the accident,” said Todd Fox, Air S afety Investigator, Central Regional Office. “An inspector from the Milwaukee FSDO responded to the accident site the next day and we spoke about the circumstances of the event and I made sure we obtained the information required to support our factual reports.”
The plane was removed from the lake on Sunday.
