The National Transportation Safety Board today announced it will meet to consider its safety study on “Characteristics of Single-Unit Truck Accidents Resulting in Injuries and Deaths” on June 4, 2013.
The study focuses on vehicle safety issues that federal regulators can more readily address. In this safety study, the NTSB sought to examine the safety experience of single unit trucks; to examine the consequences, if any, of exempting these vehicles from large truck vehicle safety regulations; and to identify countermeasures for discovered safety issues.
