WASHINGTON - The National Transportation Safety Board will hold a Board meeting to determine the probable cause of the collision involving two vessels in the Houston Ship Channel.
On October 29, 2011, the chemical tanker Elka Apollon, traveling outbound in the Houston Ship Channel, collided with the inbound containership MSC Nederland. There were no fatalities resulting from the accident.
