On Monday, June 24, the National Transportation Safety Board will open the "public docket" on the Fox River Grove accident.
The docket opens at 10 a.m. (EDT) and will contain factual information only compiled by investigators since the accident. It does not contain conclusions or probable causes of the accident. These factual reports are the basis on which investigators analyze the accident. A final report will be issued at a later date.
A media information packet (about 150 pages) will contain the following information:
* Transcripts of interviews with four school bus drivers and statement by Fox River Grove police chief.
* Factual reports on human performance, highway, school bus operations, railroad operations, signals and track, train-bus tests, vehicle factors and metallurgy.
Note to media: Beginning at 10 a.m.,June 24, copies of the information packet may be picked up from the NTSB Office of Public Affairs, Room 6200, sixth floor, 490 L'Enfant Plaza, SW, Washington, DC (adjacent to Lowes L'Enfant Plaza Hotel).
