NTSB Launches Go-Team to Investigate a Freight Train Derailment and Hazardous Materials Release in New Jersey

WASHINGTON - The National Transportation Safety Board is launching a go-team to investigate the derailment of four Conrail freight tank cars into the Mantua Creek in Paulsboro, NJ, at about 7:05 am EST today.

NTSB railroad accident investigator Jim Southworth is leading a team of 17 as the Investigator-in-Charge.

NTSB Chairman Deborah A.P. Hersman is accompanying the team and will serve as the principal spokesman during the on-scene phase of the investigation.
