On September 11, 2012 at about 1109 China Standard Time (0309 UTC), a Boeing 747-8F, registration VQ-BLR, equipped with GEnx-2B engines and operated by Air Bridge Cargo Airlines, experienced an engine failure and subsequently rejected takeoff at Shanghai Pudong International Airport, Shanghai, China. The incident is being investigated by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC). The NTSB has designated a U.S. Accredited Representative under the provisions of ICAO Annex 13 as the state of manufacture for the aircraft and engines.
