On March 27, 2009, at 1030 universal coordinated time, a Cirrus SR-22, N221LD, was substantially damaged during landing at the Lugo Di Romagna (LIDG), Lugo Di Romagna, Italy. The pilot and passenger were not injured. The flight was conducted under Italian flight regulations.

According to Italian authorities, during landing the airplane encountered a crosswind and impacted the ground off the left side of the runway.
