On Novembe4r 6, 2005, at 1238 local British time, an American Airlines Boeing 777 was struck by a Turkish Airline Airbus A340 while the Boeing 777 was stationary at the runway hold area. Wingtips of both aircraft were damaged. The event occurred at Heathrow International Airport, and is being investigated by the British Air Accidents Investigation Branch.
