On August 20 at 0800 UTC, a Spanair McDonnell Douglas MD-83, registration EC-GNY, experienced smoke in the cabin due to a hydraulic leak while taxiing at Koln-Bonn airport, Germany. An emergency evacuation was conducted, no severe injuries were reported among the 6 crew and 168 passengers. The German Federal Bureau of Aircraft Accident Investigation (BFU) is investigating.
