On January 26, 2003 a VASP Boeing 737-2M9, registration PP-SPJ, crashed while landing at Rio Branco, Brazil. The domestic scheduled passenger flight had originated from Manaus, Brazil. Initial reports indicate that none of the 93 passengers and crewmembers on board were injured. The investigation is under the control of the Brazilian Civil Aviation Department, Air Safety Division.
