On January 9, 2003 a Turkish Airlines Avro RJ-100, registration TC-THG, crashed while on approach to Runway 34 at Diyarbakir Airport (DIY), Diyarbakir, Turkey. The domestic scheduled passenger flight had originated from Istanbul-Ataturk Airport (IST), Istanbul, Turkey. Initial reports indicate that of the 75 passengers and crewmembers on board, 75 were killed. The investigation is under the control of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation - Turkey.
