On June 14, 2002, at 1800 eastern daylight time, a Douglas DC-9-15 turbo-jet transport airplane, Colombian registration HK-3859X, was substantially damaged following a runway overrun while landing at La Margarita Airport, near Neiva, Colombia. The airline transport rated pilot, the first officer, the 3 flight attendants, and the 63 passengers were not injured. The airplane, serial number 45843 ( fuselage # 28), was owned and operated by Intercontinental de Aviacion, of Bogotá, Colombia, a domestic air carrier. The flight originated from the Capitolio Airport near Florencia, Colombia, approximately 1730, with Neiva, Colombia, as its destination.
