On June 23, 2001, at 0915 Universal Coordinated Time, a Cessna 182S, G-WHDP, was destroyed while landing at the Saint Mawgan Airport (EGDG), Newquay, South West England, United Kingdom. The foreign certificated private pilot and one passenger were seriously injured. Two passengers were not injured. Visual metrological conditions prevailed for the personal flight that originated from Elstree Airport (EGTR), Eastern England.

According to the Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB), the airplane landed on Runway 31, turned left, and became airborne again. The airplane then impacted the ground, and a post crash fire ensued.
