On August 4, 1993, at 1430 central daylight time, an Ayres S2R-T15, N1950J, registered to Larry Pruden, collided with a utility pole during takeoff from a road while on a 14 CFR Part 137 aerial application flight. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed at the time and no flight plan was filed. The aircraft received substantial damage and the commercial rated pilot was not injured. The flight was originating at the time of the accident.

The pilot stated that he was departing from a road in the area where he was spraying. The winds were from the left rear at 10 to 15 knots, gusting. During the takeoff he lost directional control and the aircraft veered to the left were the left wing contacted a utility pole.
