On June 14, 1998 at about 2232, Manila time, a MD-11 Japan Air Lines flight, JA8580, slid off the left side of the wet runway, runway 24. There were 246 passengers plus two infants, 9 flight attendants, and two pilots. Five to twelve passengers received minor injuries during the evacuation. The Philippine government is in charge of the investigation.
