On November 6, 1996, at 1519 local time (1819 UTC), World Airways flight 201, and MD-11, N27AW, ran off the end of runway 11 at Ezeiza International Airport, Buenos Aires, Argentina, and became mired in the mud. There were 268 passengers, 4 flightcrew (including 2 relief first officers), and 10 flight attendants on board. All occupants deplaned through the passenger door using external stairs and there were no injuries. The airplane received minor damage. The incident was investigated by the Junta de Investigaciones de Accidentes de Aviacion Civil (JIAAC) Argentina.
