The last departure point was St. Johns, Newfoundland, Canada. The destination was Santa Maria Island.
The pilot was ferrying the airplane to London, England via Santa Maria Island. The last reported position of the aircraft was coordinates 42 degrees 20 minutes North; 37 degrees 34 minutes West. Search and rescue operations were conducted.
