A Jetstar Airways Boeing 717-200, powered by two Rolls-Royce BR715 engines experienced an engine starter failure (Honeywell model ATS 100-510) on the No. 2 engine at the Hobart Airport, Tasmania, Australia. On start, the left engine, No. 1 started normally. When the right engine (No. 2) was started, engineers noticed sparks and a fire. The flight crew shut down both engines and deployed the evacuation slides. The failure led to a full passenger evacuation on the tarmac at Hobart, with 4 passengers sustaining minor injuries.
