A KAL B747-400 on a flight from Incheon, Korea (ICN) was on descent to its destination of Shuangliu airport in Chengdu, China (CTU) when the No. 3 engine flamed out. A successful restart was performed and normal operation was resumed for an unreported time until a control message was displayed. The N2 speed reached 105.4% versus a redline limit of 105.5% and the engine was shutdown. On the ground KAL found bronze metal debris in the fuel filter.
