On September 17, 2006, at 1831 Atlantic Daylight Time, an experimental Guscott VariViggen airplane, registration N106VV, impacted terrain during a forced landing following a loss of engine power during cruise flight near Plaster Rock, Canada. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed at the time of the accident. The pilot was fatally injured. The flight originated from Bangor International Airport (KBGR), Bangor, Maine, and had an intended destination of Goose Bay Airport (CYYR), Goose Bay, Canada.
