On September 17, 2006, about 1630 UTC, electical odor and smoke began emanating from the mode control panel on an Icelandair B-767-300 operating at flight level 320. The flight crew declared an emergency after losing autopilot, autothrottles, and the flight directors. The airplane diverted to Pointe a Pitre Airport, Guadeloupe. The incident is being investigated by the BEA of France.
