THE PILOT DESCRIBED A SURGING CONDITION AND UTILIZED THE TERM 'SPUTTERING' TO CHARACTERIZE THE ENGINE SOUND. DURING THE INVESTIGATION ABOUT 1 1/2 GALS OF 100LL WERE DRAINED FROM EACH TANK.
