HE STATED THAT THE WINDSHIELD WAS COVERED WITH OIL & HE COULD NOT SEE TO FLARE THE ACFT & LANDED HARD. INSPECTION REVEALED A FAILURE OF THE #4 ROD AT THE MASTER ROD END, P/N 10992.
