ENGINE DRIVEN FUEL PUMP FAILED DUE TO LONG TERM EXPOSURE TO WATER IN FUEL. OVER TWO QUARTS WATER WAS COLLECTED FROM AIRCRAFT TANKS AFTER CRASH. PILOT MISJUDGED ALTITUDE AND DISTANCE FROM SUITABLE LANDING AREA.
